Glazer's last second chip gives Mustangs 4-2 win over Canton

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville sophomore Ryan Glazer (Montreal, Que.) chipped the puck into the back of the net with seconds remaining in the third Friday, netting the game winner as the Mustangs picked up a 4-2 road victory at SUNY Canton.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's hockey scored twice in the closing 16 seconds of Friday night's non-conference battle at SUNY Canton, as the Mustangs claimed a 4-2 win over the Roos on their home ice in Canton.
  • Morrisville battled back from a 2-1 deficit after two periods of play before pulling the contest even five minutes in.
  • Pressuring the face of the net in the closing minute of play, sophomore forward Ryan Glazer (Montreal, Que.) was able to give the visitors the one goal edge in thrilling fashion, poking in the chip inside the right post for the 3-2 lead with 15.5 seconds remaining on the clock.
  • Morrisville notched the game's first goal a mere 4:28 in when Curtis Abbott (Belmont, Ont.) found a hole down the center of the zone and put the wrister over the glove of the Canton netminder for the 1-0 visitor lead.
  • Jacob Black (Fergus, Ont.) was credited with the assist.
  • That advantage carried over into the second before Canton pulled the game even at one with their first of the night, adding a second 10:21 in to move head 2-1 after two periods of action.
  • In the third, Andrew Manley (Whitesboro, N.Y.) gathered the puck in the Mustangs defensive zone and found an open Abbott on the right wing, who then swung the puck to Cameron Clark (Daytona Beach, Fla.) in the center.
  • Clark blew by the defense for the one-touch into the back of the net, pulling the contest even at two.
  • Clark added a second goal with three seconds to go in the game, the empty net tally, off the dish from Robert Haak (Spencerport, N.Y.) and Trevor Grasby (Holland Landing, Ont.) to seal the road win.
  • Grant Linville (Edmond, Okla.) had a career high 39 saves between the pipes in the win for Morrisville.
