Guillaume named Mustangs Softball Head Coach

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville Director of Athletics, Matt Grawrock, announced the addition of Samantha Guillaume as head coach of the Mustangs softball program, effective immediately.

"It's a great day for Morrisville Softball. We welcome Samantha as the newest Mustang," Grawrock said.

"Samantha is a tremendous coach, and we could tell from her interactions on campus that she has an energy and drive to help our program take the next steps in the conference.

"The feedback from members of the team that interacted with her showed she has the capacity to relate and inspire those around her. The common opinion from all who met her was that she had an energy that was palpable and drew you in.

"It's a skill and trait that marks a good coach, and I firmly believe we got a good one with this hire. Her connections in the high school and club world will be a huge benefit for the team on the recruiting trail.

"She's coming to us with a track record of success, and I'm confident that she has the vision and passion to help develop our student-athletes and lead a program that will fight on the field in the SUNYAC.

"I'm really looking forward to the Spring and seeing what Samantha will bring to our program and the institution."

Guillaume comes to Morrisville after serving in head coaching roles at both the high school and travel club levels, including most recently as head coach at Lafayette High School.

Guillaume spent a season as the assistant varsity coach at Jamesville-DeWitt High, before taking over the head coaching role of the junior varsity program the following year.

During her time on the high school sidelines, Guillaume remained involved with the Sportszone Softball program, serving as head coach since the 2020 season.

In addition to her role on the softball field, Guillaume currently possesses her teacher certification for grades 7-12 alongside her NYS Coaching Certification.
