WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville men's soccer played to a one-goal draw Saturday afternoon with visiting SUNY Oswego, recording their second tie in league action, on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Oswego struggled to put one on the board in the opening half, firing seven at the Mustang net, but were turned away by freshman goalkeeper Ronaldo Fatolou (New York, N.Y.), including a kick save that found the first year extending towards the right post.
  • Morrisville got a break in the second half, as midfielder Sory Sangare (Bronx, N.Y.) was brought down in the box by an Oswego defender, awarding the penalty kick to the Mustangs.
  • Juan LaTorre (New Rochelle, N.Y.) rifled the penalty shot into the back of the net at the 50:29 mark, giving the hosts the 1-0 lead.
  • Fatolou made two additional stops to keep the visitors at bay, but a cross from Kyle Gehnrich on the right wing found the foot of Ian Husselbeck who one-timed the ball just under the cross bar to knot the game at one in the 79th minute.
  • Oswego had the opportunity to net another in the 83rd minute, but the shot ricocheted off the cross bar and into the hands of Fatolou, who cleared the ball from the defensive end of the field.
  • Fatolou added four more stops to his game total 11 on the day.
  • Kyle Rose registered the draw for the Lakers.
