Morrisville women unable to tame Bengals

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's soccer team dropped a 6-1 SUNYAC decision Wednesday afternoon to visiting Buffalo State College on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting Buffalo State College women's soccer scored five first half goals Wednesday afternoon as they collected a 6-1 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over host SUNY Morrisville on Drake Field in Morrisville.
  • Morrisville conceded four goals in the opening 17 minutes of league play, allowing Buffalo State to build a 5-0 lead at the break.
  • The Mustangs were able to generate offense in the second half, attempting four shots midway through the half that forced the Bengals goalkeeper to turn away three.
  • Buffalo State added one final score for the visitors at the 88:47 mark on the breakaway, extending their lead to six, but the Mustangs just over 20 seconds later were able to break through to prevent the shut out.
  • Lily Hunter (Pulaski, N.Y.) chipped the ball forward to Callie LaFontaine (Chaumont, N.Y.) in the box for the one-touch score in the closing minute of play.
  • Kayle Roberts (Deansboro, N.Y.) recorded the loss in net, turning away 10.
  • Addy Williams posted the win for the Bengals, appearing in the opening 22 minutes, before time was shared between the goalkeeping lineup.
  • Taylor Clisson turned away one Mustang attempt, Samantha Kaufman three, before Liz Flores posted a stop while allowing the Morrisville score.
  • Olivia Kilmer had three goals to lead the Bengals.
