Mustangs Win In Overtime Thriller



Marcy, N.Y. -  The SUNY Morrisville Men's Basketball Team picked up a huge conference win on the road as they beat SUNY Poly in overtime 94-92.  Kareem Sanders (Schenectady, N.Y.) would hit the game winning shot at the Buzzer to give the Mustangs a win and keep their win streak going with 16 straight wins.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The Mustangs would go into half time trailing the Wildcats 35-28, the seven-point deficit was the biggest halftime deficit of the season for the Mustangs.
  • Morrisville would use a strong second half on the offensive half to get themselves back in the game.  The Mustangs would shoot 46.3% in the second half as they shot 19-41 from the field, 2-5 from behind the arc, and 12-13 from the free throw line.
  • The Mustangs would almost end things in regulation as Daimarr Miller (Syracuse, N.Y.) as he would drain a three-pointer with 36 second remaining to give Morrisville a 3-point lead.  Poly would not give up as they would hit a 3 pointer with 2 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
  • Jakhi Lucas (Rochester, N.Y.) continued his strong play for the Mustangs as he finished with a team high of 28 points, 8 steals, 9 assists, and pull down 7 rebounds.
  • Kareem Sanders (Schenectady, N.Y) hit the game winner for the Mustangs while also shooting 8-13 from the field and 7-10 from the free throw line for 23 points.
  • Shaheem Sanders (Schenectady, N.Y.) would record a double double as he pulled down a team high 11 rebounds to go a long with his 10 points scoring. 
  • Daimarr Miller (Syracuse, N.Y) and Jordan Coard (Jamacia, N.Y.)  would each score in double figures for Morrisville as Miller finished with 11 points while Coard finished with 10 points.
