Mustangs Split on First Day of Skidmore Classic



Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team earned a split during their first night of the Skidmore Classic.  In the opening match the Mustangs would fall 3-0 to North Atlantic Conference Opponent Eastern Nazarene 3-0. Mustangs would end the night with a sweep of host Skidmore College 3-0.

  • Final Score Match One: Morrisville 0, Eastern Nazarene 3
  • Final Score Match Two: Morrisville 3, Skidmore 0
  • Location: Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs N.Y.
  • Records: Morrisville 3-4 (0-1 NAC), Eastern Nazarene (4-0, 1-0 NAC), Skidmore 3-3.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The opening match in the Skidmore Classic was against Eastern Nazarene which counted as a conference match.  The Lions jumped out to an early lead and would pick up the win 3-0.
  • Against Skidmore Samantha Mehler (Cumming, GA) led the Mustangs with 38 assists, while Hannah Taylor (Goshen, N.Y.) led the Mustangs with 15 assists against the lions.
  • Emily Huppee (Liberty, TX) would have a strong day at the net as she finished with 27 kills on the day with her top match coming against Skidmore as she finished with 19 kills.
  • Autumn Dailey (Smyrna, N.Y.) also had a strong day at the net as she finished with 4 total blocks on the day – 2 per match.
  • Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, OR) continued her all out hustle on defense as she finished with 25 digs, 17 of them coming in the win against Skidmore College.

  • The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team returns to action on Saturday September 9th as they compete in day two of the Skidmore Classic.
