CANTON, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's soccer team improved to 2-0-0 within the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Saturday afternoon as junior Mateo Barahona (Sag Harbor, N.Y.) collected the lone tally in the 1-0 league win.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's soccer earned their second North Atlantic Conference (NAC) shut out victory Saturday afternoon as they collected a 1-0 victory over the host Canton Roos in Canton.
• With both teams battling it out for a majority of the contest, it was a costly foul in the midfield that set up the scoring possession for the Mustangs.
• The free kick was sent into the box, where Morrisville attempted a shot, but Canton's defense sent it over the goal line to award the Mustangs a corner kick opportunity.
• Setting up on the right, Olvin Yanes (Selden.N.Y.) sent the ball to the far post, where fellow junior Mateo Barahona (Sag Harbor, N.Y.) jumped above the defense to head the ball into the back of the net and give the Mustangs the 1-0 lead at the 74:47 mark.
• Canton attempted to put the equalizer on the board late in the contest, but the attempts they were turned away by Morrisville.
• Caleb Lucero (Syracuse, N.Y.) recorded the shut-out victory with six saves across the contest, earning his second win of the season in net.
