HOUGHTON, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville freshman Grace Clogston (Plymouth, N.H.) collected her first collegiate score Wednesday night, as visiting Mustang field hockey dropped a 1-6 decision to host Houghton College on the road.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host Houghton College remained undefeated Wednesday evening as they topped visiting SUNY Morrisville by a final 6-1 score on Burke Field in Houghton.
• Morrisville's lone tally came from freshman Grace Clogston (Plymouth, N.H.) who put away the assisting pass from Kate Walters (Fayetteville, N.Y.) with a minute to go before the halftime period.
• Jenna Gutierrez (Syracuse, N.Y.) registered 14 saves in the loss for the Mustangs.
• Morrisville also got assistance defensively from Emma Plett (Mitchell, MB), Gabby Sennett (Union Springs, N.Y.) and Gabbie Purchiaroni (East Syracuse, N.Y.) who each registered a defensive save on the night.
• Houghton broke out a 3-0 first quarter lead and added another one minute into the second frame before Morrisville was able to put one on the board in response.
• Behind their defensive play in the third, Morrisville was able to hold Houghton scoreless, before the hosts delivered two final tallies in the fourth to wrap up all scoring.
