MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville junior midfielder,
Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.) poured in nine goals to lead the visiting Mustangs to a dominating 23-2 crosstown win over SUNY Poly Tuesday evening in Marcy, pulling their record even at 7-7 overall.

- Visiting SUNY Morrisville collected a dominating 23-2 victory over crosstown rival SUNY Poly Tuesday evening in Marcy, as five combined for 30 points on the night to lead the Mustang charge.
- Morrisville, who netted their third straight victory, got a nine-goal performance from junior midfielder Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.) to go along with three draws and two caused turnovers.
- Aria Treadway (Rome, N.Y.) powered her way to six tallies, adding an assist, while snagging three ground ball pick-ups and two draws.
- The Mustangs proved challenging for the Wildcats in the midfield, with Cara Walker (Phelps, N.Y.) snagging nine draws and two ground balls to go along with six points behind two goals and four assists.
- Morrisville outgained the 'Cats 17-8 in draws and 26-9 in ground balls.
- Alexa Ringgold (Bellport, N.Y.) also got in on the scoring with two goals of her own, assisting another, while causing havoc with four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
- Maddie Baum (Fulton, N.Y.) rattled off four goals and added an assist for five points, snagging four off the ground while collecting two draws.
- The Mustangs defensive unit allowed just 11 shots on goal on the night, as freshman Rebecca Thomas (Marcy, N.Y.) collected four saves in the win in front of the hometown crowd.
- Maggie Jones (Marystown, N.L.) turned away five in the second half for Morrisville between the pipes to secure the team win.
- Morrisville's defense set the tone early on, as they forced the first of 20 Poly turnovers in the opening 11 seconds of the contest.
- Domonique Johnson (Fulton, N.Y.) picked off the Wildcat pass and cleared the ball to Walker, drawing the foul and burying the contests first score on the free position.
- Seconds later, Walker gained control of the draw and hit Treadway, who found a wide-open Baum for the quick tally and 2-0 lead.
- Morrisville extended the lead to three with a free position score from Ringgold at 8:39, before McDonald followed with her first of the night off the dish from Walker 16 seconds later.
- Poly was able to put one on the board at the 6:31 mark, but a second from McDonald at 5:48 kicked off a six-goal flurry that found the Mustangs with the 10-1 advantage after the opening frame.
- Treadway notched three of those tallies.
- Morrisville expanded their lead to 14-1 at the break, netting a woman-down score, while adding two more on the free position to their first half totals.
- It was all Morrisville in the third with a seven-goal quarter, before the visitors closed out the final 15 with two additional goals.
