ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's ice hockey team had no answer for a late Canton rally Saturday evening, falling 5-2 in NEWHL play to the visiting Roos.

• Visiting SUNY Canton scored three unanswered tallies in the third period, including two empty net scores as they handed the host SUNY Morrisville Mustangs the 5-2 NEWHL loss on the Mustangs home ice in Morrisville.
• Morrisville took a 1-0 lead just two minutes to the contest on an Allicen Bouchard (Rockford, Ill.) tally off the dish from Kate Mabey (Guelph, Ont.).
• Canton took the 2-1 lead with back-to-back scores, the first midway through the first period and a second on a power play 18 minutes later.
• Morrisville pulled the contest even at two with their own power play score to counter at the 12:06 mark of the second, with Allie Davidson (Niagara Falls, Ont.) burying the puck off the assists from Hailee Easson (Okotoks, Alta.) and Rhys Brown (Kemptville, Ont.) to send the game into the final period knotted at two.
• Canton broke the tie at the 14:48 mark with the scoring scrum on the crease, and after the Mustangs pulled netminder Maggie Jones (Marystown, N.L.) for the extra skater, the Roos posted two empty net tallies to secure the win.
• Jones finished with 34 saves in the loss.
