MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville athletics department has announced its weekly award winners, naming women's basketball senior Taylor Colone-Microni (Oneonta, N.Y.) and hunt seat rider Jenna Head (Hubbardsville, N.Y.) the Mustangs of the Week for action ending Feb. 25.
 
Colone-Microni led Morrisville to its second straight United East Tournament Title Saturday, leading all scorers with 16 points, 11 that came in the third quarter.
 
The senior hit three clutch three-pointers and a critical free throw down the stretch to seal the win for the Mustangs over Penn St. Harrisburg in the title game, adding two steals and two assists to her totals.
 
Her efforts earned her Tournament Most Valuable Player accolades, as Morrisville earned the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament set to open Friday.
 
Head recorded a first-place ride for the Mustangs at the IHSA Hartwick Competition on Saturday in the novice class on the flat, qualifying for the Regional Championships scheduled in late March.
 
The junior earned six points to qualify for regionals, earning six with the win.
