Morrisville volleyball to play for NAC West Division Title

QUINCY, MASS. – The second seeded SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team posted a 3-0 match win over third seed SUNY Cobleskill Friday afternoon, advancing to the West Division Championship Final where they will meet top seeded Eastern Nazarene College.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Second seeded SUNY Morrisville advanced to the West Division Championship final with a 3-0 match win over third seeded SUNY Cobleskill Saturday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the North Atlantic Conference tournament held at Eastern Nazarene College.
  • Cobleskill wraps up their season with a 12-15 overall record.
  • The Mustangs had a huge game out of leading outside hitter Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) who slammed home 25 kills while hitting .488 from the floor.
  • The junior also added two assisted blocks and nine digs to her totals for the Mustangs.
  • Hannah Taylor (Goshen, N.Y.) put up 35 assists in the match, while Kayla Sheasby (Hood River, Ore.) added a 17-dig effort to go along with two service aces and an assist.
  • Morrisville also got an offensive effort from Keelin Baker (Vestal, N.Y.) who collected seven kills, adding 11 digs to her tallies, while Kayci Olson (Cortland, N.Y.) collected five kills.
  • Morrisville opened the match with a 25-16 win in the first set, hitting .235 from the floor as they collected 14 kills, before edging Cobleskill in the second 26-24 after staving off a one-point late set Fighting Tiger lead.
  • They put away the match in the third with a 25-15 set win, adding 13 additional kills to their totals, six off the arm of Huppee.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
 
  • Morrisville will continue the season Sunday, meeting top seeded Eastern Nazarene at 1 p.m. for the West Division title.
