Mustangs Cruise Past Owls 6-0



Presque Isle, ME – The SUNY Morrisville women's soccer team scored five goals in the second have to pick up a win on the road against the University of Maine at Presque Isle 6-0

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The first half was a close battle as the Mustangs would go into halftime with just a 1-0 lead.
  • The Mustangs would blow things open as they would score 5 goals in the second half to pick up the 6-0 win.
  • Morrisville held the advantage in shots as the Mustangs finished with 20 shots to the Owls 10.
  • Callie Lafountaine (Chaumont, N.Y.) recorded her third hat trick as she scored 3 goals for the Mustangs.  Lafountaine leads the NAC with 14 goals scored on the year.
  • Emiko Matsumoto Chandler, AZ) would get the Mustangs on the board first as she would send a shot past the diving Owls keeper in the first half.  Brianne Barnes (Waterville, N.Y.) recorded the assist on the goal as she would send a past through the box to a sprinting Matsumoto.
  • Ava Malin (Cold Brook, N.Y.) scored the Mustangs third goal in the games 66th minute while team Emileah Morgan (Port Byron, N.Y.) scored the Mustangs sixth goal in the games 85th minute.
  • Laura Bedell (New Hartford, N.Y.) finished with 2 assists while teammate Kailee Figger (New Berlin, N.Y) finished with 1 assist on the day.
  • Melanie Rott (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) picked up the win in goals while she made 4 saves in 77 minutes of play.  Cadence Santiago (Davenport, N.Y.) recorded 2 saves in 13 minutes of play.
