Brockport tops Mustangs in regular season finale

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville field hockey team fell to visiting SUNY Brockport Saturday evening, dropping a 9-0 SUNYAC decision to the Golden Eagles on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville field hockey battled Brockport Saturday evening under rainy and windy conditions on Drake Field in Morrisville, dropping the regular season finale by a 9-0 final score to the visiting Golden Eagles.
  • Emmaly Noeller (Canastota, N.Y.) registered 17 stops in the loss for the Mustangs, nine in the first half of action, as Brockport held the 26-3 advantage in shots on goal on the night.
  • The visitors tallied their first of the contest seconds into the game, as the ball skidded past Noeller for the Golden Eagle goal 16 ticks in.
  • Brockport added two more to their totals to take a 3-0 lead after the opening quarter, collecting one more in the second for a 4-0 advantage at the break.
  • Morrisville had opportunities in the contest but couldn't get the ball past the Brockport goalkeeper to collect a score.
  • Ella Buchanan appeared for 35 minutes in net, collecting all three saves for the Golden Eagles.
  • Gianna Salerno registered two goals and two assists, while teammate Tiffany Andres added three scores to lead the offensive efforts.

  • Morrisville will learn of their opponent in the North Atlantic Conference tournament Monday, after finishing 2-2 in the standings.
