MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host SUNY Morrisville women's basketball tipped off in a rematch of last year's United East Championship Final with Gallaudet University Saturday afternoon, handing the visiting Bison a 66-49 loss as they completed the weekend sweep with their third conference win of the season.

• Host SUNY Morrisville women's basketball picked up their third United East win of the season Saturday afternoon as they toppled visiting Gallaudet University 66-49 in a rematch of last year's league championship on the Mustangs home court in Morrisville.
• Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) led the Morrisville blitz with 22 points, adding a team high eight steals, while teammates Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) and Cara Walker (Phelps, N.Y.) each chipped in 11.
• Morrisville, who got off to a slow start in the opening quarter, put their first points on the board four minutes in as Hammersley drained a three-ball from the top of the key.
• Minutes later Vieira added one of her own from the wing, kicking off a 15-2 run across the remainder of the quarter, giving the Mustangs the 18-10 advantage after the first.
• The momentum carried into the second as the hosts built up a 24-point advantage, while holding Gallaudet scoreless until the 1:54 mark of the quarter.
• Morrisville led 39-15 at the break.
• Gallaudet put together a comeback effort in the second half, but the deficit from the first was too much to overcome as Morrisville posted the win.
• Morrisville took advantage of the fast break, outgaining the Bison 19-3, and collected 27 total points off Gallaudet turnovers.
