WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • The SUNY Morrisville men's hockey team dropped a 4-3 non-conference slate to visiting Stonehill College Saturday evening as the Skyhawks posted the go ahead tally early in the third to claim the win on the Mustangs home ice in Morrisville.
  • Post took the 1-0 lead six minutes into the opening period before Morrisville quickly responded with one of their own midway through off a Will Jones (Corbeil, Ont.) clean up tally off the initial rifle from Domenic Della Civita (Trenton, Ont.).
  • A carryover power play opportunity for Stonehill early in the second saw them add to their lead under a minute in, but Morrisville capitalized with one of their own at the five minute mark as Connor Carlile (Southlake, Texas) blasted the puck from the left point for the equalizing score.
  • James Boisvert (Mansfield, Texas) and Cameron Clark (Daytona Beach, Fla.) were credited with the assists.
  • Morrisville took their first lead of the contest midway through the period with a Trevor Neumann (Burlington, Ont.) wrister off the dish from Trevor Grasby (Holland Landing, Ont.) and Boisvert, but a late score by Stonehill sent the game into the second intermission knotted at three apiece.
  • Stonehill regained the lead at 5:28 of the third and were able to hold on as Skyhawk netminder John Day turned away 12 for the remainder of the period to keep the Mustangs off the board.
