Morrisville men unable to tame Bengals in SUNYAC loss

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's hockey team dropped 4-2 SUNYAC decision to host Buffalo State College Saturday night in Buffalo, falling to 3-9-0 overall in league action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville men's hockey dropped to 3-9-0 overall in league action Saturday night as they fell 4-2 to host Buffalo State in Buffalo.
  • Playing to a near scoreless opening period, Buffalo State put the contests first tally on the board 17:39 in to claim a 1-0 lead after the first.
  • Morrisville responded 3:17 into the second, taking advantage of the power play opportunity as Trevor Grasby (Holland Landing, Ont.) cleared up the loose puck on the crease for the score.
  • Trevor Neumann (Burlington, Ont.) and Connor Carlile (Southlake, Texas) were credited with the assists.
  • Buffalo would add two more scores within three minutes of one another to claim a 3-1 advantage, but Brett Tibbs (Mt. Airy, Md.) was able to sneak one through the five-hole of the Bengals netminder for the Mustangs second score of the night.
  • Steven Ford (Dallas, Texas) connected with Tibbs to earn the assist.
  • The Bengals sealed the win with an empty net score late in the third, the periods lone tally.
  • Ryan Creenan (Colonia, N.J.) recorded the loss, despite 28 saves on the night.
