MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team completed the series sweep with Penn College Saturday afternoon, moving into third place overall in United East standings, handing the visiting Wildcats the 84-78 loss on the Mustangs home court in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host SUNY Morrisville men moved into third place in the United East standings Saturday afternoon, handing visiting Penn College the 84-78 league loss as they bumped their record to 6-4 in conference competition.
• Morrisville led 43-37 at the half before Penn clawed their way back into the contest in the second half.
• Going point-for-point, Morrisville led by two midway through before a three from the right wing by the Wildcats gave them a one point edge at the 8:46 mark.
• Both teams battled over the ensuing three minutes before an and-one by Jordan Coard (Jamaica, N.Y.) gave Morrisville the spark they needed to finish the contest for the victory.
• Morrisville put together a 10-2 run, with eight points coming off the finesse of Coard inside, for a five-point host lead with 1:05 to go.
• A score by the Wildcats inside cut the lead to three with 11 ticks to go, but a costly double technical by the visitors sent the Mustangs to the free throw line where Shykell Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) hit 5-of-6 total attempts to seal the win.
• Four posted double figures for the Mustangs, including Coard who led all scorers with 22 points on his 10-for-12 shooting from the floor, completing the double-double with 15 rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive glass.
• Brown added 21 as he shot 50% on the day, with fellow guard Smith chipping in 20.
• Smith drained four from beyond the arc, added five boards and dished out five assists.
• Michael Green (Bronx, N.Y.) registered a double-double behind 14 point sand 12 boards, also adding six assists.
