Morrisville men dominate inside game in win over Berks

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team used two second half nine-point runs to collect their fourth straight win Tuesday night, topping the visiting Penn St. Berks Nittany Lions by an 85-73 final score in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville men's basketball posted their fourth straight win Tuesday night as they toppled visiting Penn St. Berks 85-73 in United East action in Morrisville.
  • Morrisville, who used two 9-2 spurts in the second half, powered away in the paint in the second period, overwhelming Berks with a game total 52 paint points, 23 that came on second chance opportunities.
  • Five posted double digits, including Jordan Coard (Jamaica, N.Y.) who registered a season high 27, wrapping up the double-double performance with 11 boards, eight that came on the offensive glass.
  • Coard, who also added three steals, went 12-for-18 from the floor.
  • Tron Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 16 points and snagged the double-double with 10 rebounds, while dishing out four assists and stealing three.
  • Brandon Kulakowski (Brewerton, N.Y.) and Charles Brown (Harlem, N.Y.) each posted 12 points, Kulakowski grabbing nine rebounds while recording five assists.
  • Shykell Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) rounded out the leaderboard with 10 points, hitting two three's that sparked the Mustangs runs to pull past Berks.
  • Brown also added three assists to his totals.
  • Morrisville shot 55% across the contest.

  • Morrisville heads into the weekend with a double in the southern tier of the conference, facing Lancaster Bible College Friday, followed by a match with Penn St. Harrisburg on Saturday.
