Morrisville men corral Express in United East win

AURORA, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville men's basketball team picked up an 88-49 United East win over host Wells College Wednesday night, dominating the Express as they pulled their league record even at 2-2.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville outgained host Wells College 24-6 in the opening eight minutes of Wednesday night's United East affair in Aurora and didn't look back as they cruised to a league win posting an 88-49 final score.
  • The victory is the second straight for Morrisville in league play.
  • Four collected double figures in the win, including the duo of Jordan Coard (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Brandon Kulakowski (Brewerton, N.Y.) who each posted the double-double in the win.
  • Coard led the way with 17 points and 14 boards, adding two steals and three assists to his totals, while Kulakowski collected 14 points to go along with 11 rebounds, three steals and two assists.
  • Kulakowski hit four from behind the arc for the Mustangs, who outgained Wells 12-to-5 in three-pointers across the night.
  • Shykell Brown (Rochester, N.Y.) added 17 points as well, while Mike Green (Bronx, N.Y.) posted 16 points.
  • Tron Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dished out a team high 10 assists, nearly missing the double-double as he recorded nine points.
  • Morrisville dominated the glass, snagging 47 boards to Wells 30, and forced the Express into 19 turnovers as they collected 25 points off the miscues.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
 
  • Morrisville will return to the court Saturday, traveling to Penn College before returning home on Tuesday to host Penn St. Berks.
