MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville field hockey team boosted their record to 3-2 overall Tuesday afternoon as they claimed a 2-1 win over Elmira College on Drake Field in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host SUNY Morrisville field hockey picked up a 2-1 non-conference win over visiting Elmira College Tuesday, boosting their record to 3-2 to date on the season.
• Jenna Wilbur (Greenwich, N.Y.) posted the first score of the contest, her first of her career, sweeping in the feed off Emma Plett (Mitchell, Man.) for the 1-0 host lead 7:21 into the opening quarter.
• Morrisville gained a two goal advantage at the 26:58 mark of the second quarter off the break of Gabby Sennett (Union Springs, N.Y.) who carried the ball down the left side of the field, firing the ball inside the right post for the tally.
• Elmira was able to snag one back in the fourth quarter of action off a penalty corner play, as Kylie Rosen tapped in the top of the circle feed from Katelin Bailey. Elmira held the 13-2 advantage in penalty corners.
• Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) recorded four saves in the win for the Mustangs as she faced 11 shots, five on goal.

• Morrisville will return to the field Friday, Sept. 23 as they open SUNYAC play against Geneseo. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Morrisville.
