MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville head football coach Ed Raby announced the addition of Heath Hoovler to the coaching staff for the upcoming spring season, as assistant coach of the wide receivers unit.
 
"We are extremely excited to add Heath to the staff," Raby said. "His experience as quarterback in college and a leader will allow him to make an impact in our wide receiver room.
 
"We look forward to having him utilize his playing experience to build great relationships and make an impact in recruiting high quality student-athletes to our program."
 
Hoovler comes to Morrisville from Wilkes University where he was a four-year member of the football program as a quarterback. During his time with the Colonels, Hoovler appeared in 18 games, throwing for a total 5.1 yards per pass.
 
While pursuing his degree in business with a concentration in sports management and minor in sports psychology, the Sparrowbush native worked as an assistant coach for numerous camps and clinics, including with the Air it Out Camp in Abilene, Texas since 2018, where he was responsible for overseeing planning and implementation of seven summer camps for middle and high school quarterbacks and receivers.
 
Hoovler also had stints with Ultimate Advantage in Middletown, and the Orange County Sports Club in Florida, N.Y.
 
For the past four seasons he served as an assistant coach with John S. Burke Catholic High in Goshen as support for summer workouts and practices, while also serving as a volunteer for the Wilkes University Prospect Camp.
 
Hoovler earned his degree summa cum laude in December 2021 and was a three-time Middle Atlantic Conference Honor Roll recipient. In addition, he was a representative on the Football Leadership Council for three seasons, a member of Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, and a Wilkes University Colonel Elite Member.
