  • The Nittany Lions built up a 10-point lead at the break after a slow start by the Mustangs, but it was a game total 22-points by junior guard Tron Smith (Brooklyn, N.Y.) that kept the visitors in the contest on the night.
  • Smith drained five three's across the game for the Mustangs, four in the second half, while adding three steals to his totals.
  • Jon Brennan (Irvington, N.Y.) and Jordan Coard (Jamaica, N.Y.) each added eight points in the efforts.
  • After an early second half jumper by the hosts, Morrisville's Michael Litchfield (St. Albans, N.Y.) pulled up and hit one in the paint, kicking off a 7-2 offensive spurt for the Mustangs that cut the Abington lead down to seven in the opening minutes.
  • Abington doubled up the Mustangs with a run of their own to build the advantage back to 16, but back-to-back three's from Smith and play in the paint made it a two-possession ball game midway through the final period.
  • Morrisville closed the game to four with 4:06 to go with another long ball from Smith, and Brennan made it a one-point game with one of his own at the 2:13 mark, but Abington found their way to the free throw line in the closing minute of the game to seal the league win.
