- Despite being outshot in the first two periods, the Mustangs were able to hold the host Roos scoreless.
- SUNY Canton opened the scoring first with a break away tally at the 7:54 mark in the third to take the 1-0 advantage.
- However, the Mustangs capitalized on a power play opportunity late in the 13th minute of action.
- Cameron Clark (Daytona Beach, Fla.) notched the equalizer on a put back. Trevor Grasby (Holland Landing, Ont.) and Luca Esposito (Bolton, Ont.) picked up the assists.
- The score remained deadlocked at one goal apiece through the rest of regulation.
- Neither squad was able to find the back of the net in overtime and the score ended 1-1.
- Garrett Boyonoski (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) recorded 33 saves across the full 65 minutes of action.
