THE BASICS:

  • Location: Nashua, N.H.
  • Records: Morrisville 3-4-0, Rivier 4-3-1

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville played goal-for-goal with host Rivier University Saturday evening but was unable to stop the Raiders on the power play as the final dagger made its way into the back of the net with just over five minutes to go in the contest.
  • Rivier notched the first tally of the non-league matchup 12:03 into the opening period, a power play score that gave them the 1-0 advantage.
  • Morrisville's Cameron Clark (Daytona Beach, Fla.) evened the contest at one for the Mustangs, netting the tally off the pass from Jonas Leas (North Vancouver, B.C.) 17:56 in the first to send it into the second knotted at one.
  • Andrew Manley (Whitesboro, N.Y.) posted his first collegiate tally for the Mustangs 5:13 into the second, rifling the go ahead score into the back of the net off the dish from Trevor Neumann (Burlington, Ont.) for a 2-1 Morrisville lead.
  • Seven minutes later, Morrisville had two in the box after interference and holding penalties were called, and as with the first period, Rivier capitalized for a second power play score of the night, evening the contest at two.
  • Curtis Abbott (Belmont, Ont.) put the Mustangs back out in front with his tally at the 17:55 mark with the 3-2 lead after two.
  • Richard Hart (Liverpool, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.
  • The hosts, though, tied the contest at three seconds into the third period, posting the evening score a mere 27 ticks in and exchanged opportunities with the Mustangs for the next 13 minutes before Morrisville found themselves back in the box for an interference call.
  • The Raiders took the lead at the 14:41 mark, their third power play score of the night, and held on as they collected the win.
  • Grant Linville (Edmond, Okla.) posted 29 saves in the loss for Morrisville between the pipes.
