Morrisville women fall in SUNYAC action to Oneonta

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville field hockey team dropped the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) outing to visiting SUNY Oneonta, falling 4-0 in league action.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Host SUNY Morrisville fell in SUNYAC action Tuesday evening in Morrisville, as Oneonta converted a first quarter strike for their first of four tallies on the night in the win.
  • Madeline Acevedo opened scoring with the putback off the rebound at 8:47, holding the one goal lead through the halftime period.
  • In the third, the Dragons added to their totals with a second tally, the first of three by Carly Waszczak who collected her own rebound and snapped the ball back past Morrisville keeper Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.).
  • Waszczak collected two more tallies in the fourth quarter, converting a penalty stroke for the three goal lead before finalizing all scoring with her third of the night at 54:16 for the win.
  • Dueber turned away 21 in the game, with assistance from Emma Plett (Mitchell, Man.) who registered two defensive stops, and another from Aria Treadway (Rome, N.Y.) in the Mustang efforts.
