Mustangs Pick up First Win of New Year behind Creenan’s 52 Save Effort

Box Score SHELTON, Conn. – Morrisville Men's Ice Hockey picked up their first win of 2022 on Wednesday afternoon, shutting out Post University 1-0 in non-conference competition.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Brett Tibbs (Mt. Airy, Md.) put the Mustangs on the board at the 12:08 mark of the first period for the 1-0 advantage.  Trevor Neumann (Burlington, Ont.) and Stevie Gerbis (Bradenton, Fla.) picked up the assists on the even-handed tally.
  • The Eagles responded by outshooting the Mustangs 19-6 in the second period and 21-15 in the third, but the Morrisville defense held the host team scoreless to preserve the 1-0 victory.
  • Ryan Creenan (Colonia, N.J.) picked up his first career win and first career shutout, denying all 52 shots that he faced over the course of the contest.
  • Other offensive leaders for the Mustangs were Luca Esposito (Bolton, Ont.) and Curtis Abbott (Belmont, Ont.) who each put five shots on goal.
NEXT UP FOR THE MUSTANGS

The Mustangs return to their home ice on Friday, January 14 for a non-conference matchup with the Knights from Arcadia University.  Puck drop is set for 5:30 PM in the IcePlex.
