Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's volleyball team went 2-0 on the day's action as they swept the match against visiting Sage College by final scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-17, improving to 3-0 overall on the young season.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Host SUNY Morrisville outgunned visiting Sage Colleges 43-21 in kills across the three-set match Friday evening, earning their third straight win on the young season.
• For the second time on the night three posted double figures in kills, including Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) who registered a match high 15. Gates also collected six digs.
• Kayci Olson (Cortland, N.Y.) notched 11 as she hit .733 in the match, while also collecting 12 digs to lead the Mustangs on the defensive side of the net.
• Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) rounded out the leaders at the net with 10 kills for a total 10 points.
• Anna Salamino (Liverpool, N.Y.) collected nine digs and served up two aces, while Ku Ku (New Hartford, N.Y.) added six digs and an ace in her two set appearance.
• Morrisville led early 7-5 before Sage went on a six-point scoring streak to claim an 11-7 advantage midway through the opening set.
• The Gators maintained the edge over Morrisville until a kill by Marina Megson (Lebanon, Conn.) brought the Mustangs within one and ignited a seven-point service streak for Salamino that resulted in a set win for the hosts.
• Gates contributed to the Mustangs offensive game with five kills alone across the final seven points.
• In the second set, Morrisville jumped out ahead 5-2 with back-to-back service aces by Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.), extending that to a 10-4 advantage behind Olson's attack midway through.
• After Sage clawed their way back into the set, Morrisville extended their lead to 18-13, but again a five-point service swing found the visitors within striking distance with the hosts.
• Morrisville fell behind 22-21 before regaining the serve, where Gates added another kill to her totals to tie the set at 22.
• Salamino served up an ace for the one-point advantage, and Huppee and Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) blocked an attack attempt at the net to make it set point, but it was a big attack by Olson that gave the Mustangs the set win and sent them into the third with a 2-0 set lead.
• In the final set of the match, Morrisville opened with the first three points, and maintained a good distance, leading by as many as nine, from the visitors to seal the win.
