MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – A late second half surge for Morrisville women's soccer helped lead the Mustangs to a 3-2 non-conference win over Hilbert on Wednesday afternoon. Morrisville was led by their freshmen class, with all three goals scored by first year players, behind first-year goalkeeper,
Melanie Rott (Niagara Falls, NY) who made her debut between the pipes.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Hilbert got on the scoreboard first, scoring the lone goal of the first half at 32:49. Sophomore Macy Kisner fired a shot off a free kick, grazing just past Rott's hands to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
- The Mustangs took eleven first half shots and six corner kicks in the first 45' minutes of action, but still were unable to even the score, heading into halftime down a score.
- Morrisville's Jozlyn Dolan would even the score at 46:28, notching her second goal of the season. Dolan one-timed a shot with her left foot to convert on a great cross from sophomore, Ashley Tette (Rochester, NY).
- Hilbert's Grace Zabawa would give the Hawks their second lead of the contest, scoring a penalty kick goal at 58:33.
- Freshman midfielder, Laura Bedell scored the equalizer at 80:36, recording her first collegiate goal. Dolan dished the ball off to Bedell, waiting in the middle of the penalty box who one-timed the ball to the top right corner of the goal.
- Brianne Barnes (Waterville, NY) would go on to score the game winning goal with less than 5' minutes to play in the game. Rachel Davis (La Fargeville, NY) chipped the ball up field to Barnes who gained control and went on a breakaway to rip a shot past Hawk's keeper, Tahlia Kosek.
- The Mustangs controlled much of the offense, taking 12 shots on goal to Hilbert's 4, while holding a 7-0 advantage in corners.
- Rott posted 2 saves in goal for Morrisville, recording her first win of the season.

- Morrisville women's soccer returns to conference play this weekend, traveling to Penn St.-Berks on Saturday afternoon for a 3:00pm contest.
