Oswego scores three late in win over Mustangs

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – SUNY Morrisville field hockey opened State University of New York (SUNYAC) play Wednesday evening, hosting SUNY Oswego on Drake Field, with the Lakers picking up the league win by a 5-0 final score in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Oswego posted a 2-0 lead at the break and added three others in the second half of action to top host SUNY Morrisville by a 5-0 final score in Morrisville in SUNYAC action Wednesday night.
  • Morgan Dueber (Owego, N.Y.) posted the loss in cage, turning away a game total 10 on the night, including three each in the first and second quarters of play.
  • Oswego had three different players net tallies, including Chloe Parks who posted the first strike a mere 53 seconds into the contest, collecting the rebound for the score.
  • Nancy Pagliaroli extended the lead to two for Oswego, swiping the long hit in from Megan Delaney into the back of the net for the two goal advantage at the 29:19 mark.
  • Oswego's Kaitlyn Mastracco converted a penalty stroke for the Lakers at the 41:42 mark in the third quarter to make it a 3-0 game before adding her seventh of the season on a backhanded strike in the center of the circle early in the fourth frame.
  • Molly Darcy put the game out of reach with her drive from the top of the circle as Delaney registered the assist for the Lakers.
  • Erica Scheblein recorded the win in net, making three stops, including one on a Mustang breakaway late in the fourth quarter.
