Morrisville women net third straight win

Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's lacrosse picked up their third straight win Wednesday afternoon as they cruised to a 17-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win over host Wells College in Aurora.

  • Final Score: Morrisville 17, Wells 1 (halftime – Morrisville 12-1)

  • Records: Morrisville 4-2, 2-0 NEAC; Wells College 1-5, 1-1 NEAC
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Morrisville scored early and often, claiming a 3-0 lead just 2:30 into the contest with two scores coming off the stick of Jaele Naab (Buffalo, N.Y.).
  • Within minutes the Mustangs extended the lead to four, before the hosts were able to put their lone goal on the board at the 22:11 mark.
  • Morrisville responded with a 8-0 run to close out the opening half, three tallies coming from Aria Treadway (Rome, N.Y.) who finished with a game high five goals.
  • As with the start of the contest, Morrisville controlled all play in the second half, adding five more goals to their already significant lead, as they collected their second straight NEAC win.
  • Morrisville outgained the Express in shots, 36-6, and won the battle in draws, 11-9.
  • Along with her five goals, Treadway added an assist and collected two draw controls while teammate Maddie Baum (Fulton, N.Y.) registered three goals and added three assists.
  • Makenzi Santini (Fairport, N.Y.) posted four scores and Naab finished with two.
  • Alexa Ringgold (Bellport, N.Y.) notched one goal and assisted one, while Lauren McGreal (Pawling, N.Y.) and Ciara Putman (Central Square, N.Y.) each contributed one apiece.
  • Alana McDonald (Potsdam, N.Y.) recorded three assists, along with Kendra Johnston (St. Albert, AB) who registered her first collegiate point with an assist of her own.
  • Kadi Denney (Lorraine, N.Y.) collected one save in the win in the first half, before Laura Lorraine (Hamilton, N.Y.) added two additional stops in the second period of play.

  • Morrisville returns to the field Saturday, traveling to Mount Aloysius College. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and due to COVID regulations, spectators are not permitted.
