Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – SUNY Morrisville sophomore guard Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) rattled off a game high 17 points Friday night as the Mustangs opened United East action on the road in Lancaster.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

• Sophomore guard Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) posted a game high 17 Friday night on the road in the United East league opener at Lancaster Bible College, leading the Mustang efforts as they fell in conference action by a 67-45 final score.
• Hammersley went 8-for-14 from the floor, while adding two stelas to her totals.
• Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) added 10 points, collecting four rebounds and three steals, while Taylor Colone-Microni (Oneonta, N.Y.) contributed seven points.
• Morrisville fell behind early as Lancaster posted a 39-21 lead at the break behind a 58% shooting effort from the floor in the opening half of action.
• The Mustangs, who struggled to convert from the floor in the first half, found their rhythm in the third quarter, outgaining the hosts 18-14 in the frame while hitting 7-of-13 shots from the floor.
• That effort was overcome, though, as the hosts continued to attack offensively and overcome the Mustangs for the 67-45 final victory.
