WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Morrisville wasted little time getting themselves on the board, taking a one goal lead at the 1:13 mark off the stick of Stevie Gerbis (Bradenton, Fla.).  Curtis Abbott (Belmont, Ont.) assisted on the tally.
  • Just over two minutes later, Plattsburgh got themselves on the board to tie the contest.
  • The deadlock did not last long as Robert Haak (Spencerport, N.Y.) ripped a one timer from the right point at the 6:16 mark, giving the Mustangs the 2-1 lead.  Ben Sprague (Norfolk, N.Y.) and Steven Ford (Dallas, Tex.) picked up the first and second assists respectively.
  • The Cardinals tied the contest once again just over midway through the second period.
  • However, Chris Mott (Nesconset, N.Y.) put away a centering pass from Jake Kaplan (Bowie, Md.) in the 19th minute of the second, giving Morrisville the 3-2 lead going into the final period.
  • Plattsburgh took control of the contest offensively in the third period, outshooting Morrisville 12-3.
  • The Cardinals offensive persistence paid off as they knotted the score once again at the 5:49 mark.
  • With the score tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, the two squads headed into overtime.
  • Plattsburgh eventually found the game winner at the 1:48 mark in overtime to take the SUNYAC win.
  • Owen Liskiewicz (Redbank, N.J.) suffered the hard luck loss in net for Morrisville despite his 38 save performance.
