Mustangs Bow Out of United East Tournament, Fall 3-1 to the Bisons in Final

READING, Pa. – The Morrisville women's volleyball team saw their 2021 season come to a heartbreaking close on Saturday afternoon, falling in four sets to the #2 seed Bisons from Gallaudet University in the United East Conference Final.
 
THE BASICS 
  • Final Score: Morrisville 1, Gallaudet 3
  • Location: Reading, Pa.
  • Records: Morrisville 17-12 (4-4 United East), Gallaudet 21-11 (7-1 United East) 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • The Mustangs lost the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-18 before clawing their way back to take the third set 28-26.
  • Unfortunately for Morrisville, the push was not enough as they fell in the fourth set 25-17 to give the Bisons the 3-1 match victory.
  • Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) ended her career with a 14 kill effort to pace the Mustangs offense.  The senior also picked up two block assists and three digs across the four sets.
  • Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) also finished in double figures.  The outside hitter picked up 10 kills to go along with 12 digs.
  • Anna Salamino (Liverpool, N.Y.) wrapped up her time as a Mustang with a team high 16 digs as well as picking up the team's only service ace of the match.
  • In addition to Salamino and Gates, Kayci Olson (Cortland, N.Y.) and Isabella Wallace (Homer, N.Y.) hit the double digit kill mark with Olson posting 12 and Wallace picking up 10.
