Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) hit a career milestone, joining former teammate Meaghan Merrill in reaching the 1,000 kill milestone mark as the Mustangs took on Penn St. Berks in United East action Saturday afternoon in Reading.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Senior outside hitter Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) joined the elite of elite in the Mustang record books Saturday afternoon as she threw down her 1,000th collegiate kill in the United East match against Penn St. Berks in Reading.
- The milestone mark came in the fourth set off the assist from Hannah Taylor (Goshen, N.Y.), as she joins former teammate Meaghan Merrill in reaching the 1,000 threshold.
- The attack gave Florio 15 total kills across the match, exactly what she needed to reach the milestone heading into the contest.
- Morrisville fell 3-1 in match action on the day to the hosts, falling behind in the first two sets before battling back and falling short in the fourth.
- Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) added to the Mustang efforts in hitting, collecting 10 kills, while Emily Huppee (Liberty Hill, Tex.) contributed eight.
- Anna Salamino (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the defensive efforts with 13 digs, Gates adding another 10, while Morrisville's combo of Florio and Huppee each registered a block at the net.
- Morrisville, for a second straight match, struggled to find their rhythm offensively, recording a combined .069 effort across the first two sets as they found themselves in a 2-0 match deficit.
- In the third, they started to get in the groove and after a four point serving stretch, opened the set lead to 16-10, putting the set away with two kills by Gates, one from Florio and the double block at the net from Huppee and Florio.
- In the fourth set, Morrisville used the strong serving of Ku Ku (New Hartford, N.Y.) with four total service aces, to open a two-point set lead over the Nittany Lions, but a late comeback run by the hosts sent the Mustangs home with the loss.

- Morrisville will wrap up the regular season schedule next weekend at Penn St. Harrisburg in a United East showdown with the Nittany Lions and Gallaudet University.
