Wildcats take down Women’s Soccer

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The SUNY Morrisville women's soccer team dropped to 1-3-1 in United East conference play on Sunday afternoon, falling to the visiting Penn College Wildcats 3-0.

  • Both teams battled throughout the first frame, neither team dominating offensive possession, tied at six shots apiece heading into halftime.
  • Penn College's Teagan Wiley put the Wildcats on the scoreboard at 58:06, with an unassisted goal, her sixth of the season.
  • Freshman, Jaci Hunsberger connected again for the Wildcats at 69:33, notching her first collegiate goal.
  • Penn College tacked on their final score with less than three minutes left to play, with a goal from BillieGean Hennessy.
  • Morrisville had several chances on the offensive end; Tiffany Dicenzo (Rochester, NY) led the Mustangs with three shots, two of them on goal, while Ashley Tette (Rochester, NY) and Rachel Davis (LaFargeville, NY) both tallied two shots of their own.
  • Penn College outshot the Mustangs 14-6 on the afternoon, while Morrisville held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper, Meaghan Miller (West Irondequoit, NY) made three saves in all 90' minutes of action for Morrisville.
