WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Cardinals, who struggled to score early in Friday night's contest, picked up three first period goals to jump out to an early lead.
- However, the Mustangs worked their way back, swinging some momentum in their favor in the closing minute of the first period as Kylie Cameron (Burlington, Ont.) notched her six goal of the season, putting away the rebound off of Kendra Johnston's (St. Albert, Alta.) initial shot on goal. Also collecting an assist on the play was Tessa Dobson (Moose Factory, Ont.).
- Plattsburgh State extended their lead to three goals in the 8th minute of play in the second period, but Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, B.C.) was able to cut the Cardinal's lead in half just over three minutes later. Mackenzie Lombardi (Hamilton, Ont.) and Cameron assisted on the strike.
- Unfortunately for Morrisville, the Cardinals went on a four goal run in the third while holding the Mustangs to just one shot on goal to pick up the 8-2 win.
- Prior to the contest, the Mustangs celebrated the careers of their four seniors: Cameron, Devlin, Dobson, and Taylor Finnie (Kamloops, B.C.).
