Campbell nets 1000th point in win over Keuka

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) chipped in 24 points Tuesday night, including her 1,000th career point, to lead the host SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team to a 69-56 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) win over visiting Keuka College in Morrisville.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Junior guard Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) became the fifth in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark Tuesday night, netting the bucket on her first lay-up of the contest, as she poured in 22 more to lead the host SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team to the 69-56 win over Keuka in Morrisville, earning the series sweep.
  • Campbell's efforts came with four from beyond the arc, while adding a team high six rebounds and four assists.
  • Senior Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) also notched four from long range, accumulating a total 19 points come final whistle, while adding six rebounds to her totals.
  • After leading 30-27 at the break, Morrisville doubled up Keuka in the third, outgaining the Wolves 25-12 to claim the 55-39 lead after three.
  • Morrisville rattled off the first eight-points of the quarter, before Keuka was able to put a mark on the board since the half, six off the hot shooting hand of Campbell.
  • After four straight long balls from Rockefeller, Miranda Wright (Smyrna, N.Y.) and Shardae Cooper (Rochester, N.Y.) Morrisville extended their lead to as many as 18, and headed in to the final quarter with a 16-point advantage.
  • Keuka outgained Morrisville 17-14 in the final frame, but the deficit was too much to overcome as the Mustangs earned the league series sweep.
