WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball fell in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action Saturday afternoon as host Gallaudet University outgained the Mustangs in the fourth quarter to collect a 73-62 league win on their home court in Washington, D.C.
  • The contest though, saw Mustang guard Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) net 21 total points, including one of five from long range that became a milestone mark for the senior.
  • Rockefeller's three-ball from the right wing at 7:50 of the third was her 1,401st career point, claiming the top spot in the Mustangs record books as the all-time leading scorer in program history, a mark (1,400 points) set by alum Jordan Anderson in 2017.
  • While Rockefeller has three regular season games remaining on the season, and potentially one or more in the post-season for the Mustangs, on her heels is junior Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) who poured in 26 on the afternoon, and is also closing in on the 1,000-point threshold.
  • Campbell also grabbed seven rebounds along with fellow teammate Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) to lead the Mustangs efforts on the glass.
  • Gallaudet had four net double-figures, including Emelia Beldon who paved the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds, assisting eight.
  • The Bison controlled the boards, outgaining the Mustangs 64 to 30, as Kendall Hudson snagged a game high 16, and Cassidy Perry 14, respectively.
  • Morrisville headed into the final quarter trailing by three, 51-48, but Gallaudet took advantage of the Mustangs missed shots and outgained the visitors 22-14 for the league win.

WHAT'S NEXT:

  • Morrisville concludes their road schedule and returns home Tuesday for the first of a three-game home skid, hosting Keuka College at 7 p.m.
