Campbell's 36 guides Morrisville to 95-74 win in Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Junior guard Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) poured in a season high 36 points Wednesday night to lead the visiting SUNY Morrisville women's basketball team to a 95-74 victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) host SUNY Cobleskill.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Visiting Morrisville women's basketball rattled off 55 first half points Wednesday night in Cobleskill, handing the host Fighting Tigers a 95-74 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) defeat in Cobleskill.
  • Senior guard Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) led all scorers with 36 points, hitting 12-of-16 from the floor, including a 6-for-8 effort from long range.
  • Four additional teammates netted double figures, including Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) and Taylor Colone-Microni (Oneonta, N.Y.) who each chipped in 13. Rockefeller also added five steals to her tallies, leading the way with five rebounds.
  • Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) and Brooke Hammersley (Weedsport, N.Y.) rounded out the Mustang leaderboard with 11 and 10 points, respectively, with Vieira adding four steals.
  • Morrisville jumped out to a 30-21 lead after the opening quarter, fueled by a 16-point performance from Campbell.
  • Cobleskill cut the lead to three early on in the second, but a three-point play by Campbell extended the lead to a six-point gap, following with one of six total three's to extend the Mustang lead to seven.
  • Back-to-back three balls by Vieira and Hammersley gave the Mustangs a 14-point cushion at the half.
  • Morrisville maintained the advantage in the third, and utilized as many as a 28-point lead to cage the Tigers and collect the win after the final quarter.

  • Morrisville will have a final road match on Saturday, traveling to Gallaudet University for a 4 p.m. tip, before returning to the Mustang Valley for a three-game home slate that kicks off the final week of the regular season with Keuka on Tuesday.
