WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
  • Morrisville jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, scoring at both the 7:01 mark and the 7:59 mark.
  • Bennett Weycker (Appleton, Wisc.) got the scoring started, slashing to the middle to receive a pass from Nick DeVito (Averill Park, N.Y.), and notched his first collegiate goal.
  • Fifty eight seconds later, Rick Eberhart (Lockport, N.Y.) found the back of the net off of an assist from Jesse Anderson (Wasaga Beach, Ont.).
  • The Knights did not stay down for long, cutting the Mustangs' lead in half at the 11:10 mark.
  • Just under seven minutes later, SUNY Geneseo's Conlan Keenan would score the first of his three goals of the contest to knot the score up at 2-2.
  • The Knights would go on a four-goal run in the second period including a shorthanded tally and a power play strike.
  • Down 7-2, DeVito was able to swing the momentum back to the Mustangs at the 6:10 mark in the third for his sixth goal of the season.  Ryan Bochert (Denver, Colo.) and Weycker were credited with the assists.
  • The Mustangs were granted four power play opportunities throughout the contest.  Unfortunately, the pressure of the Knights' penalty kill limited Morrisville to one shot on goal.
  • Geneseo on the other hand, went 2 for 5 on the power play.  The second power play goal occurred at the 17:23 mark in the third, making the final score 8-3.
