WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Union was the first to net a tally Wednesday evening in the non-conference match up against Morrisville State, and scored three more en route to a 4-2 win.
  • Union scored the first off a corner play, as the pass was deflected on the mouth of the goal at the 14:46 mark in the first quarter.
  • Morrisville State responded minutes into the second quarter as Erica Sciallo (East Islip, N.Y.) tapped in a long pass for her first collegiate goal of the season. Grace Hanehan (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.
  • Union added one more before the halftime period, and added another minutes into the third quarter off the deflection to claim a 3-1 advantage.
  • The hosts made it a three-goal margin in the fourth quarter, but Morrisville State wouldn't go away quietly. Hanehan collected her second of the season as she nailed the shot into the far corner of the cage.
