DANBURY, Conn. – The Morrisville Women's Volleyball team was able to avenge a heartbreaking loss last weekend against Vassar College in their first match of the day at the Western Connecticut State tournament, defeating the Brewers 3-1.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Mustangs tallied 60 kills over the course of four sets, forty of which belonged to the hitting tandem of Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) who each recorded twenty in the non-conference victory.
- While Morrisville did not pick up as many blocks as they are used to, their back row took control, compiling 86 digs to just 68 from Vassar. Libero Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) led the way with 23, while Merrill picked up 21 and Baratier added 17.
- While the Mustangs offense was highlighted by the 20 kill performances of Merrill and Baratier, Kirsten Florio (Wellsboro, Pa.) picked up 12 kills and freshman Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) tallied five.
- Freshman setter, Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) collected 53 assists.

- Morrisville will wrap up their Western Connecticut State Tournament schedule with Wesleyan at 2 PM.
