MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Mustangs took to the court on Saturday for the final day of their opening tournament. Unfortunately, the opening game did not go their way as they fell 3-0 against the Golden Tornados from Geneva. However, the Mustangs were able to turn the tides in their tournament finale, posting their second come from behind win in a five set thriller against Penn State-Behrend.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Mustangs struggled to get past the strong net presence of the Golden Tornados in game one as Geneva posted 10 total blocks across the three sets.
- After the tough loss in the morning, Morrisville collected themselves to take the first set 25-20 against Penn St.-Behrend.
- However, the Lions roared back against the Mustangs, taking the next two sets.
- Neither team hit particularly well throughout the match as both squads could not get over the .200 mark for hitting percentage.
- Down two sets to one, Morrisville showed their grit in the fourth set edging the visitors 27-25 to force the deciding fifth set.
- The fifth set stayed true to the story line of the rest of the match with Morrisville and Behrend matching each other point for point.
- Ultimately the Mustangs prevailed with a 19-17 win in the fifth set to take the match 3-2.
- Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) led the way offensively on the day with 39 kills, while libero Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) anchored the defense with 42 digs between the two matches.
- Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) collected 24 assists in the second match against Behrend, while Hannah Taylor (Goshen, N.Y.) added 19 assists of her own.

- Morrisville will hit the road next weekend as they take on Muhlenberg College and Vassar College on Saturday, September 7 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
