WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Morrisville men's hockey battled back from a two goal deficit to send the game into the final period knotted at two, but the visiting Bears notched four unanswered tallies over the course of the final frame to claim the 6-2 SUNYAC win in Morrisville Saturday evening.
  • Potsdam held a 2-0 advantage after the first period, scoring just 2:05 into the contest on an early power play opportunity, before adding another at the 15:27 mark on an unassisted tally.
  • Trailing by two, the Mustangs battled in the second and finally broke through at the 12:57 mark as Kyle Wadden (Des Moines, Iowa) collected his first of the season, off the dish from Jesse Anderson (Wasaga Beach, Ontario). Wadden's shot bounced over Potsdam goaltender Ryan Glander, who was unable to control the puck.
  • Minutes later, the Mustangs had thought they added another, but the officials waived it off and at the 19:45 mark, Eric Melso (Philadelphia, Pa.) evened the contest at two with his power play tally, poking in the loose puck that was sent to the crease by Ben Sprague (Norfolk, N.Y.) who collected the assist.
  • It all came unfolded in the third for the Mustangs though, as Ryan Lieth regained the lead for Potsdam, and kicked off a four-goal period for the Bears, as they walked away with the league win.
  • Glander collected the win in net for Potsdam recording 28 saves.
  • Young made 18 stops each in the first and third periods, en route to 45 total for the game, as Potsdam held the 51-30 advantage in shots.
