MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Host Morrisville women's basketball used its strong balanced attack Friday night to top visiting Alfred University by a final 82-68 non-league score as it's back court unit collected all but eight points of the nights tallies.

• Morrisville opened with a dominating 27-point first quarter with an offensive attack that came from all areas of the floor, all from beyond the arc, as six different Mustangs drained the long ball to contribute to the 15-point advantage after the opening frame.
• Morrisville maintained the double-digit lead in the second, holding as many as a 17-point edge, to claim a 48-35 lead at the break.
• Alfred put together a second half rally, cutting the Mustang advantage to six with just under two minutes to go in the third. But much like the opening two quarters, Morrisville took advantage of its hot shooting from long range and widened the gap to nine with another long ball, adding a layup at the horn for the 11-point lead after three.
• Once again in the fourth the Saxons attacked the paint and used its inside game to cut the deficit to seven, but Morrisville used the strength of its back-court unit to regain a double-digit advantage and collect the win.
• A trio of guards led the Mustangs in the win, including Alexis Campbell (Buffalo, N.Y.) and Tori Rockefeller (South Kortright, N.Y.) who compiled 26 each, combining for nine of the team's total 16 three's on the night.
• Campbell added eight rebounds to go along with three steals and five assists, while Rockefeller collected six off the glass and dished out two assists.
• Rachel Vieira (Caruthers, Calif.) posted double figures as well, collecting 11 points, while hitting two from long range.
• Shardae Cooper (Rochester, N.Y.) added six points, along with four assists.
• Alfred got a big game from Bri Hicks who contributed 18 points off the bench to the inside game, and 54-36 advantage for the Saxons on the glass with eight rebounds.
• Jamie Wilcox put together a double-double effort, adding 10 points and a team high 13 rebounds, while teammates Ana Ion and Gillian Flint added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
• Morrisville forced 28 Saxon miscues, collecting 21 points off the turnovers, and adding 11 on fast break opportunities.
• The Mustangs drained 16 threes' (39%) on the night, and shot 16-for-19 from the free throw line, contributing to the win.

• Morrisville will return to the court tomorrow, hosting SUNY Canton at 2 p.m. in a non-league matchup on the Mustangs home court.
