POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Mustangs saw their 2019 campaign come to a close on Friday afternoon with a 3-0 loss against the Ithaca College Bombers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Morrisville jumped out into an early 6-3 lead in the first set, forcing the Bombers into a time out.
• The Mustangs' lead was short-lived as Ithaca rallied to take a 14-10 lead to force Morrisville into their first timeout of the set.
• Despite the Ithaca advantage, the Mustangs chipped away, but it was too little too late as they fell 19-25 in the first set.
• Amelia Baratier (Liverpool, N.Y.) rallied the Mustangs to a 3-0 lead early in the second set.  However, the Bombers were able to battle back and flip the advantage to their favor.
• Down 12-7, serving from Sam Wolf (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Siobhan Moore (Leyden, Mass.) sparked a Morrisville run to knot the score up with the Bombers 18 all.
• Even though the Bombers rattled off 3 straight points after that, the battle continued as the two teams traded points with Baratier serving the Mustangs to within one at 23-24.
• Unfortunately for the Mustangs, the power of Ithaca's Reagan Stone proved to be too much as the Bombers closed out the second set 25-23.
• Heads up setting by the Bomber's Caitlyn Floyd and the dominance of Stone propelled Ithaca to a swift 25-10 third set win to complete the sweep of the Mustangs.
• The Bombers defense held the Mustangs offensive attack in check as the Ithaca front line combined for 10 blocks and held all Morrisville hitters to single digits.
• Baratier led the way for Morrisville with 7 kills, while Megyan Merrill (Millport, N.Y.) and Brianna Gates (Eagle, Colo.) each added 5.
