Box Score

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Junior guard, Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) netted a team high 23 points to lead visiting Morrisville State College women's basketball past host SUNY Cobleskill by a 60-47 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) final in Cobleskill.

The Mustangs, who avenged an early January overtime loss to the Fighting Tigers, improved to 15-7 on the season, 11-4 in conference play. Cobleskill dropped to 7-13, 6-8 in NEAC action.

Anderson shot 50% from the floor, and posted a perfect shooting effort from the charity stripe on the night, while adding four assists and five steals to the win for Morrisville State.

Kaitlyn Griffin (Brewerton, N.Y.) was the lone additional Mustang to reach double figures in the contest, contributing 10 to the win. Charlotte Walker (Middle Island, N.Y.) grabbed eight rebounds on the contest to lead the Mustangs on the boards.

Marissa Woodard (Unadilla, N.Y.) also collected eight rebounds, while netting nine points in the victory.

Ashleigh Creighton led Cobleskill's efforts with 16 points, adding three assists, while teammate Shelby Preston added a 14 point, eight rebound performance in the hosts efforts.

Morrisville State trailed 12-9 after the opening quarter before rattling off 20 second quarter points, while holding Cobleskill to just four, as they claimed the 29-16 lead at the half.

Both teams played even in the second half, but the lead the Mustangs built up in the first half, was too much for the hosts to overcome.

Morrisville State will return to the court Saturday, traveling to Bryn Athyn for a 3 p.m. NEAC tipoff.
