Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville State College women's basketball team cruised to a 82-46 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) victory Saturday afternoon, as they dominated visiting Bryn Athyn College en route to collecting the win.
The victory lifts the Mustangs to 16-6 overall, 12-3 in NEAC action, as the visiting Lions drop to 7-14, 6-10 in conference play.
Each player posted a score on the day as three posted double figures for Morrisville State, including senior Alyssa Gratien (Syracuse, N.Y.) who tallied a team high 20 points, while dishing out four assists and collecting five steals. Jordan Anderson (West Edmeston, N.Y.) added 13 points to go along with her three steals and three assists, while teammate Haley Kilmartin (Fort Plain, N.Y.) registered 12 off the bench, snagging eight rebounds.
Bryn Athyn's Keana Schoenagle led the Lion efforts with nine points and eight rebounds as the visitors struggled from the floor, hitting just 25.8% for the day on 16-of-62 attempts.
Morrisville State used an 18-4 run early on to build up a 13 point lead midway through the opening half and didn't look back as they rolled to a 22-point lead at the half behind 40% shooting from the floor. The Mustangs dominated the paint, scoring 20 points, while adding 16 off turnovers and having the bench contribute 18.
The Mustangs put the game away in the second half, collecting as much as a 38-point lead in the win.
Morrisville State held the 51-40 advantage on the glass, and outshot the visitors 46.2% to 25.8% on the day. Prior to the game, seniors Gratien, Monique Jadotte (Bronx, N.Y.) and Jennel Paul (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were honored.
Morrisville State returns to the court tomorrow, hosting Penn St. Abington at noon in the home finale.
