Box Score

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Freshman Danny Liscio (Woodbridge, Ontario) posted his first collegiate hat trick Friday night as the Morrisville State College men's hockey team settled for a 3-3 overtime draw with visiting Canton in Morrisville.

After playing to a scoreless first, Canton took the 1-0 lead nine seconds into the second period as Josh Sova buried the wrist shot in front of net for the early advantage. Midway through the period, Eric Witzel added to the Roos lead with a power play score, giving the visitors the 2-0 benefit at the 8:38 mark.

Liscio posted his first of the night with just over a minute remaining in the period, burying the feed from CJ Stubbs (Pleasant Grove, Utah) to cut the deficit to one heading into the final period.

Canton regained their two goal lead 3:31 into the period  before Liscio responded for the Mustangs, rifling the puck past Roo keeper Luis Puig on the breakaway to make it a one goal game with 14 minutes showing on the clock.

Morrisville State pulled netminder Steven Dombrosky (Elizabethtown, Pa.) with 1:20 remaining in regulation and capitalized with the extra skater, as Liscio collected his third of the night with just over a minute left to force the overtime period.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the extra frame as they settled for the 3-3 draw.

Dombrosky finished with 31 saves in 64 minutes of play, including three in the overtime period, while Puig registered 32 on the night.
